F.A.Q.'s about Planning Center Giving

We know that change can be difficult.  Here are some (hopefully) helpful answers to questions you may have about our new giving solutions partner, Planning Center Giving.  If you have any question not answered here, please feel free to contact John Donaghy, our Technical Director,

or Kevin Oliver, our Associate Pastor.

  • Q: Who was our previous giving partner?  Can we still give through them?

A: Our previous partner was Pushpay.  Our contract with them has concluded, so if you try to donate any funds, our church will no longer be a selectable destination.

  • Q: I have the Pushpay app on my device and it still seems to be working.  Why is that?

A: The Pushpay app is used by many organizations and you may continue to use it for such.  The Well however will no longer be discoverable.

  • Q: I only used the Pushpay app for The Well.  Can I delete it from my device now?

A: Yes.  It is no longer needed as our giving function has been moved to the Church Center app.

  • Q: Do I need a new app to give to The Well from my mobile device?

A: No, in fact you do not.  You may text any dollar amount to 84321.

  • Q: I accidentally texted an incorrect amount, can I cancel it?

A: Yes.  Within 30 minutes of the original message, you can text "Refund" to 84321 to cancel the transaction.

  • Q: Is there a new app to replace the old one?

A: Yes.  Download the "Church Center" app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.  There is a short and easy one-time setup where you will fill in some information and select The Well as your home church.

  • Q: What advantages are there to using the new Church Center app?

A: Giving is our newest feature.  In addition, the app is a key way to stay informed about most of our church events and groups.  You can register for such events and join groups as well.  Further, you can pay for our events where there is a fee, even using Apple Pay (forthcoming).  And don't forget about the all important profile section, where you can update your information, view your giving history and see what events and groups you're currently signed-up for.

  • Q: I had recurring giving setup in the Pushpay app.  Do I need to disable it?  Can I setup recurring giving in Church Center?

A: Your Pushpay account was automatically unlinked from The Well on January 31st, 2020.  No further charges will be incurred.  Any other institutions you are affiliated with that use Pushpay will continue as usual.

You may use recurring giving with Church Center, but you will need to set it up again at your convenience.

  • Q: Can I still give through the church website?

A: Yes. The giving page on our website now connects with Planning Center Giving.

  • Q: Can I still give using traditional methods such as by check or cash?

    A: Absolutely!

  • Q: I have the "My Church" app on my device.  What is that for and do I need it?

A: My Church was a portal type app used to access a mobile app we were once developing.  Due to great advances on our webpage the mobile app became unnecessary and was discontinued.  The app is no longer needed and you can remove it from your device.
